Trumpeter MIG-3 1/48
This is Trumpeter's MIG-3 in 1/48 scale. Trumpeter has conjured up a beautiful and finely detailed model here. It is not in line with the original in some areas, but the overall impression of the model fits.OOB- really?
However, I was interested in building the model as it comes out of the box. Well, to be honest, I didn't make it. The good intentions continued up to the cockpit. I started to improve the model with my own resources. The harness was made with parts from the grave box and metal foil. The instrument panel got rings made of fine wire to make the instruments more vivid. Wire and many plastic sheet parts found their way to the model.
A little from the masters - Ricardo Abad Medina and Javier López de Anca Garcia
I took inspiration from Ricardo Abad Medina and Javier López de Anca Garcia. In their book "Airplanes in a Model" they deal with the MIG-3 in a rather detailed report. I tried to implement many ideas from the book because reading alone doesn't help.
Revell Aqua Color
The painting was done with Revell Aqua Color colors. They are easy to use. The biggest advantage, however, they are available almost everywhere. We are able to buy these colors at any time and do not need to place an order online.
A question of technology?
I used many painting techniques to achieve many different effects.
In order to make the uniform "green" more appealing, it was applied in different tones. Some of the paint was removed using the "hairspray method". Scratches flaked off paintwork and simple signs of wear can be easily created. The color was applied or spotted with a sponge.
